Random Nail Spam!

Hi Everyone!

As you can see, I have the *most* imaginative title for this post...! So very creative... not!

Anyway, if you're still here (and have forgiven me for the terrible title), I'm just going to share some of my favourite mani's from the last couple of months!

Mavala Toulouse with Layla Mercury Twilight fade.

Max Factor Meteorite - a blue to swoon for!

ELF Dark Navy - I love the shimmer running through this!

ELF Dark Navy with Look Beauty Nail Pop in Sequin Effect - this pair was MADE for each other!

Sinful Colors Cha Cha Red with Maybelline Flash Cosmic - so simple and pretty!

H+M Lolita polish with China Glaze White on White - a mixed up gradient mani!

There are a few more pictures to sort through, so I'll be back soon with a few more. Then, I guess we'll see!

Thanks for reading,

M+S Mash Up

Hi Everyone!

After picking up a few polishes in the Marks and Spencer's beauty hall, I noticed that they had the same shimmer running through them. The first one being Cappuccino, which I posted about here and the second one being the Lilac polish. They both share a rather pretty golden shimmer, and so because of this, I decided to try a slight gradient mani with the two of them!

Here's what I came up with!

What I love about this mani, is how the lilac only shows up in a brighter light - blink and you can miss it as the golden shimmer just brings the two colours together! Its an unusual combination of colours, and I think it just about works!

What do you think about this combination? Do you think it works?

Let me know,

Pink and Purple Gradient Nails

Hi Everyone!

A while back I treated myself to two bottles of China Glaze from the Electropop collection. The colours I picked up were Gothic Lolita (a blue toned purple) and Wicked Style (a blue toned bright pink).

As I seem to be a lover of all things purple, and now pink(!) I decided to use them both for a bright gradient mani!

I love this combination of colours on the nail together, it's bright and fun - great for Summer! And, it allows me to indulge in two of my favourite colours at the same time!

What do you think? Do you like the mix of colours?

Playing Around With Neons!

Hi Everyone!

Well, the weather may me miserable up here, but I'm not letting it get me too down. If Summer won't come to me, I'll have my own pretend Summer haha!! Hence - NEONS!!

After publishing this post,I found myself wanting to wear some neons again. I don't know what it is, I don't think they really suit me, but... NEONS. Writing neons in capital letters is the only explanation I have.

I know, I'm not exactly normal, am I?

I must first apologise that these photo's are a bit rubbish. Trying to capture the true colour of a neon is hard. Trying to capture the colour of two on the same nail? Good luck! It wasn't easy - at all, so I'm spamming a few pictures instead so you get the general idea. In digital form, they may not look great, on the nail - they sizzled! Oh yeah!! Trust me, it is so worth a go. The sunshine might be non-existent now, but we can still rock some bright nails!

I used a base of Flip Flop Fantasy, and added a sponged dabbing of China Glaze's Purple Panic. Then I sponged on some black tips. I used a glossy top coat to help seal the gradient together.

Pictures. Not so wow. Real life effect? WOW! If you have these colours, or anything similar in your collection, give it a go. This is so one for sizzling summer nights. It makes me think of blazing sunsets, or something burning! Give it a go - I hope you like it as much as I do!

Blue Gradient Nails

Hi Everyone,

Today I am going to show you a mani which I can't wait to try again - only next time, with a tan!

I love gradient manicures - they look awesome and can be relatively simple to do, however, sometimes they can be a bit hit or miss for me.

This mani has a few faults - but I know exactly where I went wrong and will try my hardest not to make that mistake again.

My base layers would not dry. The colour I used (2true Glossywear Polish in shade number 49) would not dry within a reasonable time, and it hated a quick dry top coat. The colour itself is lovely - a bright and bold shimmery blue. And if I had given it 10 years to dry, it would have been gorgeous. But, I was slightly impatient.

I know, nail fail!

I sponged on a new polish from Barry M - well, one I haven't seen before anyway! This one is called Denim and I got it as part of a little haul from my local Superdrug. They had a buy two, save £1 thing going one. And then there was the three for £5 on the 2true polishes. Yes, yes, resistance is futile.

Anyway, I digress! Back to the nails!

Unfortunately, you can see where the sponge ripped up some of my base layer, and I have tried to fix it. And unfortunately, I think I made it worse. But if you ignore that teensy bit, this manicure will surely make you want to go on holiday! There is just something about those blues that make me think of a bright summer sky and a tropical sea begging for someone to swim in it!

I love the mix of colours here. I don't often wear blue. I'm not sure why, I just prefer it's cousin purple. But these two blues have really changed my mind. Bring on the Blue!!

What do you think - is this a great holiday manicure?
